Thank You, Harvey Weinstein

Yes, thank you for being the master predator who got caught.

Thank you for breaking open the Pandora’s Box of sexual assault happening all around us. Not just in the worlds of entertainment, politics and athletics.

Thank you for spotlighting how people in positions of power like you wield it so masterfully to intimidate, subjugate, and destroy.

Thank you for making us realize that incredible talent doesn’t necessarily equate to an upstanding human. My heart has been broken repeatedly by sexual misconduct allegations against people I have admired for so long. Kevin Spacey, Dustin Hoffman, Jeffrey Tambor, Brett Ratner, James Woods, and yes, you. I loathe you as a person, but I can’t deny your genius.

Thank you for highlighting that this is not just a man vs. woman thing.
Anthony Rapp, Terry Crews, Anthony Edwards.

Thank you for compelling some powerful voices to finally speak up.
Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Lupita Nyong’o, Rose McGowan, Ashley Judd, and so many more.

Thank you for giving me hope that not all bad deeds go unpunished.
I lost faith when the clearest admission of guilt did nothing to deter us from electing our Predator In Chief.

Thank you for giving my friends the courage to acknowledge that they have been victims themselves, so they can start to heal. #MeToo

The world may not thank you again for your award-winning movies. But I would like to thank you for becoming the poster child for an epidemic that has gone unchecked for far too long.

Thank you, Harvey Weinstein.
